Growing up in an entrepreneurial family, I witnessed firsthand what it means to serve clients with care. Our family-owned funeral home and home medical equipment companies taught me the importance of thoughtful service, especially during life's pivotal moments.

My journey into space planning began in 2017, while renovating our 1950s ranch. From unexpected contractor issues to a failed inspection, I experienced just how critical proactive planning is before construction begins.

About elh&co

Where it Started

A woman with blurred motion, walking inside a bright kitchen with white cabinets, wooden barstools, a black pendant light, and a gold faucet.
A woman with brown hair smiling while sitting at a white desk in front of a white laptop in a bright room.

In the weeks that followed, I found myself reflecting constantly on the experience. I Googled “software Joanna Gaines uses,” discovered SketchUp, and started teaching myself how to use it by watching YouTube videos at night. That one Google search changed everything. I fell in love with space planning and never looked back.

Now, I’m a trusted SketchUp expert, speaker at 3D Basecamp, and frequent guest in webinars and workshops for designers and creatives. What started with a home renovation has grown into a business built on helping others plan smarter.

How it’s going

Today, elh&co is a space planning and design documentation studio based in Columbus, Ohio. I’ve completed thousands of spaces and built long-term relationships with homeowners, designers, and contractors who value clarity, communication, and great design.

My services include space planning for homeowners, design documentation for interior designers, and 1:1 coaching for creatives growing SketchUp-based businesses. What ties it all together is simple: helping people make confident design decisions before construction begins.

This work is equal parts technical and intuitive. I bring deep focus to the details, while never losing sight of how a space should feel once it’s lived in.

My People

As a wife and mom to three kids, Hazel, Calvin, and Mabel, it brings me joy to help families create a home where they can feel at ease.

When I’m not reimagining spaces, you can find me adventuring with my husband, Andrew, and our kids in one of our favorite vacation spots — the mountains of Colorado, the lakes of Michigan, the beaches of Florida, or our special place of Cooperstown, New York.
